HERE IS THE POSTER FOR THE FIRST MOVIE,DIGIMON:THE MOVIE -Eight Years Ago- Tai, woken in the middle of the night because he has to use the bathroom, finds his little sister Kari staring fixedly at the family's computer. To his utter amazement the screen begins to glow red and a large egg comes out! The next morning as Tai climbs down from the top bunk he tells himself it was all a dream. Except . . . there's Kari, sound asleep and cuddling against a large egg with pale pink splotches! Since their mom is going out, it's up to Tai to make breakfast for the two of them. Kari sits in her highchair and holds her egg. In response to his question of can they use the egg as a soccer ball she shakes her head and blows on her whistle, hugging the egg closer. Suddenly it slips away and rolls into the bedroom, so she crawls down to go after it. Tai follows and the two of them are just in time to see a little something hatch out of the egg. It zips around the room, attaches itself to Tai's face for an instant, then hides under the bunk beds. The two little kids go to see just what exactly hatched. Under the bed they spot a tiny black head with big orange eyes. Tai, being the clever one, decides to throw his goggles at it. The little creature shoots out a stream of clear bubbles, sending Tai tumbling across the room. Kari's approach is a little friendlier. She imitates a little tune the creatures is humming (it's the Digimon theme song!) on her whistle. It blows streams of bubbles in time with the music. This makes little Kari laugh, and soon they're best friends. To commemorate their friendship, Kari feeds the creature some candy bars. Tai doesn't think they should keep it, but his little sister (with more whistling) insists. Then the phone rings, and he leaves Kari and the little creature to go and answer. It turns out to be Sora, who's mad at Tai. Luckily the phone starts messing up. Other electronics in the house are in the fritz too. Tai returns to the bedroom to find that the creature is now changed into a larger pink head with long ears! Kari goes to get the cat's food bowl for the little guy. In appreciation he latches onto her face, which seems to be his way of showing affection, and then Tai's. As the little guy chows down on the cat's meal the trio is interrupted by Miko, who wasn't too happy when her food was stolen. She goes straight for the creature, giving him a nasty scratch before dragging her food bowl out the door. In the process of the fight Tai gets scratched himself. He comments that they don't make much of a tag team. Later, after their mother returns home, Kari talks to the little guy. This makes Tai slightly jealous, since Kari only blows her whistle at him. Surprisingly, he talks back! He introduces himself as Koromon, a digital monster from the digital world. Koromon thanks Tai for saving him from the scary monster, and of course does the stick-to-his-face thing. The friendship has been cemented. That night the Kamiya residence goes haywire, unbeknownst to the sleeping family. The microwave and everything else electronic flashes on and off and generally malfunctions. In the kids' bedroom Tai is awakened by Kari's urgent whistle. Koromon's gone and done it again! A giant orange tyrannosaur as tall as the bunk beds is now standing in the room. (Kari, still narrating, points out that this is not the Agumon that Tai meets in the Digiworld four years in the future.) He ambles over to the window and Kari, still clad in pajamas, opens the window and climbs onto his back for a piggyback ride. With a leap they're out of the apartment and on the street, landing on a parked car. Agumon's exploring the new world he's found with little Kari. They discover a row of soda machines and Agumon breaks one open, spilling the cans. Kari is sure to only take three, but drops them to chase after Agumon when something catches his attention. Meanwhile Tai is searching the city for the two, alarmed at how hard it is to find a dinosaur. Suddenly startled by a truck, Agumon almost demolishes it with his Pepper Fire attack! Kari was having fun up until this part. She pleads with Agumon to stop destroying things and is barely able to save a city bus that comes barreling around the corner. Electronics in the city are going crazy again, which are noticed by a few kids up way past their bedtime. The sky is then filled with a giant digi-egg, stretching from horizon to horizon like a huge white moon. It splits down the center and Parrotmon, a huge green bird, drifts down from the sky! Agumon attacks this large feathered Digimon with a metal helmet, despite Kari's pleadings. Tai, spotting the big bird along with several other kids on their balconies, catches up and reaches his sister just as a bridge topples down on all three of them. Lights flash, electricity fails. A huge dinosaur is now sitting on the street, sheltering Tai and Kari with his body! He tells the children he's Greymon now, then launches himself at Parrotmon. The now-giant dinosaur Digimon clashes with the green bird in front of the apartment building Highton View Terrace. Parrotmon and Greymon grapple in the street. With a blast of his Sonic Destroyer, the parrot Digimon hurls Greymon to the ground. Injured, he lies there unmoving. Kari calls to him in tears but gets no response, as Tai holds her back. And Parrotmon is approaching! Desperately, Kari blows on her whistle. But she's too weak to make a very loud noise. Tai stares. Since the whistle woke him up earlier, maybe it can wake up Greymon and save the city from Parrotmon! Taking a huge breath, Tai exhales into the tiny silver device and produces an ear-splitting noise. The shrill, piercing sound drifts over the city streets, catching the attention of other children living in Highton View Terrace. They watch anxiously from their balconies, along with Tai and Kari on the street, as Greymon's eyes fly open! With an angry roar he stands and unleashes a giant Nova Flame. The gigantic attack creates a blinding glare. As the light fades, Greymon and Parrotmon have vanished, leaving a confused Tai and his little sister Kari, who cries out for her lost friend. -Four Years Ago- Now we jump to a time four years in the future, after the Digi-Destined have returned to the real world following Apocalymon's defeat. One day Izzy is puttering around his laptop and spots a virus on the Internet. To his surprise, when he calls it up the screen it's actually a red and white digi-egg! All over the world, the image of the egg is appearing on other computer screens as well. Before Izzy's startled eyes it hatches into a small gray Digimon with one bright orange eye. Alarmed, Izzy grabs the laptop and rushes out of his room. As he runs across town to the Kamiya residence, Tai is typing up an apologetic e-mail to Sora. He signs "Love, Tai," then gets flustered and changes it to "From." Unfortunately for him, Kari runs into the room and peeks at the screen. Tai's arm nudges the keyboard and changes the word back. Before he can correct the problem, Kari sends the e-mail and rushes back out, heading to a friend's birthday party. Tai curses the pains of a little sister and goes to raid the fridge. Then there's someone at the door and, holding an egg from the fridge, he goes to answer it. It's Izzy, out of breath and babbling something about an egg. Tai stares at the egg in his hand in confusion until Izzy snaps that that isn't the egg he's talking about and pushes his way into the house. The two boys go to Tai's room and open Izzy's laptop, which shows the Baby virus. Then it digi-volves into a gray clawed foot with ears. From Baby to In-Training already! This is getting serious. The little Digimon is actually eating data from around the Internet, making him incredibly strong and able to digi-volve so fast. He's also messing up computers all over the city with his scramble for food! Izzy and Tai shoot across the house to the computer room, where Izzy starts yanking equipment off the desk and putting it on the ground, interfacing his laptop with the computer despite Tai's objections. Finally everything's all set up and he switches on the laptop. A new Digimon is on the screen, a small grayish Digimon with flat hands, long feelers, and big eyes. He's digi-volved again! The Rookie introduces himself as Keramon. With his usual perfect timing, an e-mail from none other than Gennai comes through to the two boys. And the eight Digi-Destined Digimon are with him! Tai and Izzy gladly greet their old friends as Gennai tells them he can upload Agumon and Tentomon to the Internet to stop the evil virus. Both boys agree. Gennai reports that it will take a while to get set up, so Tai and Izzy head for the phone to try to get a hold of the other Digi-Destined. But Joe's taking a test, Kari can't leave the party, Matt and T.K. are visiting their old grandmother (she's a bit doddery and hangs up on Tai), and Mimi's on vacation in Hawaii! Tai asks Izzy to make the call to Sora, grudgingly admitting she's not talking to him. But Sora's very angry, and when Izzy explains to her mother she tells her to say she's not home. It looks like it's all up to Agumon and Tentomon. As the bug and the little tyranno Digimon speed through the informational superhighways of the Internet (a long, colorful tunnel which they fly down) Tai and Izzy pop up in little windows above them to encourage their friends and give them a password so they can get online. The two Digimon emerge into a mostly white world with colorful wheel-like shapes on the "walls." (This is the physical representation of the Internet, I imagine.) Immediately they spot the grayish Rookie, Keramon, drawing in more Internet data in a long stream. He's so preoccupied Tentomon and Agumon can sneak up on him to attack him. Tentomon lets loose with a Super Shocker, which envelops the Digimon in blue electricity, but doesn't do much to slow him down. Neither does Agumon's Pepper Breath. The boys instruct their Digimon to digi-volve. Hopefully their stronger forms will be able to stop this guy. But after Greymon and Kabuterimon make an appearance the evil virus is digi-volving too! He becomes Infermon, a large red and white spider-like thing with spiked legs. And this Digimon isn't a Champion. The virus managed to completely bypass his Champion stage and is now an Ultimate! Greymon and Kabuterimon are again unmatched. Just as they complete digi-volving once again Infermon blasts them with his own attack, Spider Shooter, and MetalGreymon and MegaKabuterimon are so badly injured they become Agumon and Tentomon once again. They need help! All this time, kids of every nationality around the world are staring at computer screens, watching these strange creatures in battle. The e-mails start pouring in to Izzy's laptop. One is a puzzling note from a little blond boy named Willis, proclaiming how sorry he is and how it's all his fault. Izzy can't do much about the mess of e-mails and goes back to the battle. But Infermon has taken off! It seems he's everywhere at once, traveling the computers of the world as he searches for someone, and even sending his own e-mail to Izzy, which just repeats "Hello." again and again. He also takes over the phone company, making it impossible for anyone to make a call, and booting Izzy and Tai off the Internet! Izzy runs out of the house, promising to return soon. Moping about and waiting for him to get back, Tai spots on television that the phone company has set up an emergency line that people can use and makes some desperate calls to the other Digi-Destined. When Izzy returns he explains that he got a satellite uplink so that they can hook up to the Internet without using phone lines. Matt and T.K., meanwhile, have found out from their grandmother that Tai was trying to talk to them. They receive the message on voice mail that Tai left for them and send one of their own. The four boys go back and forth for a while, explaining the situation. Tai tells Matt and T.K. that they have to find a computer so Gabumon and Patamon can help battle Infermon! Their grandmother doesn't have one, so they hop a ride with a guy on a scooter to town, where they finally find a computer in a barbershop. Soon Gabumon and Patamon are zooming to help their friends. The four Digimon catch up with Infermon, who has been exploring America through the Internet, and Agumon and Gabumon warp digi-volve to WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon. But the virus is digi-volving too! A black Mega level Digimon, Diaboromon, attacks Patamon and Tentomon before they can digi-volve, and they're knocked out of the battle. MetalGarurumon and WarGreymon charge. Izzy's and Tai's eyes are glued to the screen. With the worst possible timing, the strange stuff Tai's mom has been making disagrees with Izzy and he has to stagger to the bathroom. (Tai doesn't refrain from telling him "I told you so.") While he's gone Tai, in frustration, slams the computer screen. It promptly crashes. Oops. Izzy returns, feeling much better . . . for a moment. As he scrambles to fix the crash he gives Tai a piece of his mind, finally booting it up in time to see. . . . WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon almost totally destroyed. And that isn't half of Diaboromon's tricks. A timer appears on the computer screen, along with another e-mail from the virus. "Who can count backwards from ten?" He has tapped into the Pentagon and activated two nuclear missiles! Willis e-mails Izzy again to say that one is heading to Colorado and the other to Japan! The timer is counting down. . . . MetalGarurumon and WarGreymon slowly manage to move, but Diaboromon begins to copy himself until the white world of the Internet is drowning in his evil black form. The Digi-Destined Megas speed down another tunnel and finally find where the Diaboromon copies are nesting. They cover the walls, thousands upon thousands. And the only way to stop the timer is to delete the original virus! WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon can't possibly stand up against all these copies, which blast them with powerful attacks. Already weakened, they try to dodge the blasts. But something is slowing them down. Izzy realizes it's the e-mails that are again pouring into his laptop from around the world! Some are encouraging, some insulting. One person sending them is a familiar lavender-haired girl we come to know well. All the e-mails are slowing the processing speed of the good guys, and there's nothing Izzy can do! The e-mails take their toll, as the copies of Diaboromon blast our Tai's and Matt's Digimon again and again. When the dust finally clears to still forms float in the middle of the chamber, blackened and unmoving. . . . Tai reaches out to his Digimon in desperation, unable to stand the sight of his fallen friend. And when Tai's mother comes in to check on the boys, she's surprised to find that Tai is gone! T.K. is likewise alone, and as he and Izzy (and the kids of the world) stare at their computers it becomes clear what happened. Somehow Tai and Matt, with the power of their friendship for their injured Digimon, were able to pass through their computer screens and into the Internet! The two boys encourage their Digimon to keep fighting, despite being surrounded by the thousands of evil virus copies. Tai tells WarGreymon to feel the strength of the kids around the world sending in e-mails. And something is happening . . . WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon are digi-volving past their Mega levels!? YES! Using the power of the e-mails they fuse together into one supreme Digimon: Omnimon. With a huge gun as one hand and a large sword in the other (not to mention a Digi-Destined on each shoulder), he sets to work. Omnimon's Supreme Cannon and Transcended Sword attacks wipe out the legions of Diaboromon copies without having to break a sweat. Soon only one is left. It's the original. But he's way too fast! Izzy, still sitting in Tai's apartment in front of the computer, is reminded of Willis' suggestion to slow him down. Of course! Izzy forwards the tons of e-mails he's been receiving to Diaboromon. Now with his own processes slowed down he can only watch as Omnimon draws his massive sword and cleaves the evil Digimon in half. Connection terminated. The timer freezes, one second to go. The nuclear missiles crash harmlessly down into the ocean. The Internet is fixed, and an e-mail of apology finally gets through to a girl who grins and mutters, "Stupid Tai." The world is saved. Somewhere on the other side of the world a little blond boy and his twin Digimon are celebrating their victory. -Present Day- We finally reach the last part of our story. Eight years after Greymon's fateful battle with Parrotmon, four after Tai and the other Digi-Destined had their adventures, Kari and T.K. are visiting Mimi in New York. They try sending a digital photo to the other Digi-Destined, because Kari wants to tease Davis and make him jealous. Davis, Yolei, and Cody are hanging out at a beach with DemiVeemon, Poromon, and Upamon, enjoying themselves. But the photo can't get through because the connection's down. Puzzled, Kari begins to feel something odd. She tells T.K. about the strange sensation. Suddenly the street rumbles and a huge indentation appears in the street. Street signs bend, a mailbox is crushed. Something invisible is destroying the city! A blond boy with bright blue eyes and a small light green and cream-colored creature find themselves in an ally, where the invisible menace appears. He is a large, angry-looking creature. "Go back," the large monster rumbles to the boy. "Go back." The boy calls the monster Kokomon and begs him not to destroy the city, but the huge beast isn't listening. Finally the little creature attacks Kokomon with his Bunny Blast attack and Kokomon turns invisible and retreats . . . for the time being. Following her intuition, Kari leads T.K., with Patamon and Gatomon of course, to the boy and his Digimon--for that is what these creatures are, obviously. But he tells them to stay away and runs off. This doesn't deter them. Patamon flies after. Kari knows somehow that he needs their help. The blond boy just can't understand what Kokomon was trying to tell him. Go back where? Finally he figures the large Digimon must mean for him to go back to Denver, Colorado, where he used to live. He calls his mother and tells her he's going camping for a while. Unfortunately, since it's too dangerous to get too close to people, the two of them must walk to Colorado. In the heat. Patamon is able to overhear where he's heading and Kari and T.K., curious as to what's going on, book a ride by train to Denver. They also manage to get a message to the other younger Digi-Destined, telling them to get to Denver as soon as they can. However, along the way the train in which Kari, Gatomon, T.K., and Patamon (who appear to be the only ones riding) are in is suddenly enveloped in purplish light. The Digimon we know as Kokomon appears to them, displeased that they are interfering. Meanwhile Yolei is able to get herself and her friends to America by using her uncle's frequent flyer miles. Unfortunately, they haven't quite gotten to Denver yet. But they find a taxi that gives them a bumpy ride at least part of the way. Later Davis manages to make a truck stop and they all climb in the back . . . only to find someone's already thought of that idea! A blond boy and his creature, who by now are very familiar to us, are also stowing away. DemiVeemon sniffs the two and announces that it's a Digimon! Which makes the boy an American Digi-Destined! Poromon and Upamon come forward too. With this common ground the two groups quickly introduce themselves. The boy is Willis, and his Digimon is Terriermon. After the truck they're still not quite to Denver just yet. From a payphone Willis calls in a pizza delivery to his house and talks the guy into picking them up on the way there! While they wait Terriermon the other Digimon have fun. It's always been just him and Willis before, and he likes these new friends. But when the pizza guy comes only Cody and Yolei get in before he drives off! This leaves Willis and Davis to find their own way to Denver. As the delivery truck drives away Kokomon appears again. DemiVeemon digi-volves to Veemon, then armor digi-volves to Flamedramon. Willis tries to tell Kokomon that he is going back, like he told him to do, but it doesn't seem to get through. Kokomon lunges at Willis. Then his digi-vice starts to glow. Terriermon digi-volves into his Champion form, Gargomon! This rabbit-like Digimon drives off the menace, who repeats "Go back." as he fades away again. Veemon then armor digi-volves into Raidramon and--with Davis, Willis, and Terriermon holding on for dear life--gallops over the Colorado landscape. Some farm children cheer as they pass by. The two boys finally meet up with Cody and Yolei in Denver, where everyone is concerned since Kari and T.K. haven't shown up yet. Davis is fed up with all the mystery going on around here. He corners Willis in the woods and demands to know what's going on. Willis starts in on his story. As a child eight years ago a digi-egg emerged from his computer and out hatched twin Digimon, Kokomon and Terriermon. Willis was an only child, and these two little Digimon became his only friends. Since the small boy was a computer genius as well, he tried creating even more friends like his Digimon on his computer. But what he created instead was a digi-egg infected with a dangerous virus that got loose onto the Internet. That was four years ago. Luckily the Digi-Destined in Japan were able to stop him using Omnimon. But the virus that corrupted the digi-egg sprang back and also infected Kokomon. Over the years the little Digimon became the ugly monster that hunts down Willis. The boy has to try to get his friend back. That's why he's been trying to do as it says, going back to where it all began. Davis is so touched by this tale that it brings him to tears. Terriermon also comes up and is determined to help his brother, even if it means fighting against him. The time for talk is over. When Kokomon appears the next day it's time for a final showdown. Gargomon, Flamedramon, Halsemon, and Digmon attack the Digimon, but he digi-volves! He knocks them down and out. The good Digimon regroup, but now he sinks below the waters of the lake they're fighting around . . . and emerges in his Mega stage! Little black balls shoot from him, hitting the Digimon and reducing them to Rookies. Things look bad. He's tossing the Digi-Destined Digimon around like rag dolls! Just as he's about to swallow them whole, T.K. and Kari finally show up with Angemon and Angewomon as well! But now Kokomon is forcing the children to become younger! Perhaps this is what Kokomon meant by going back? Yes! Not go back to Colorado, but go back in time to when the virus first attacked! All this time the real Kokomon has been trying to speak through the virus' programming from somewhere deep inside, and tell Willis what must be done to stop him! The two angels know they have to do something drastic when it appears that Kokomon's wounds heal themselves. Time to digi-volve, to their Mega forms! Seraphymon, a huge angel with ten wings and covered in armor, and Magnadramon, a great pink dragon, use their immense powers to bring forth two Golden Digi-Eggs, which evade Kokomon and shoot into Willis and Davis' hands. The two boys shout out, "Golden Armor Energize!" and Veemon and Terriermon become Magnamon and Rapidmon! These two Armor Digimon are covered in golden armor. They attack the evil Digimon with renewed vigor. But their attacks aren't strong enough, and Kokomon just heals himself. They need to attack him from the inside! When the evil Mega appears right behind them, Magnamon and Rapidmon allow themselves to be eaten! Inside the evil Digimon an image of Kokomon in his ugly monster form appears to them. He's trying to tell them something . . . he's trying to tell them how to defeat the evil he has become! Outside the little children watch in fear, waiting. And as they watch the evil Mega Digimon is destroyed from the inside out! A beautiful vaccine form of the virus Mega floats in the sky, holding out his hands to Willis as the wind blows his particles away. The blond boy cries. He's lost both his friends now, as there's no sign of Rapidmon or Magnamon. But a call from above turns everyone's eyes to the sky. There's Terriermon, floating with the use of his giant ears, and Veemon holding on for the ride! So now it's over, even though one of Willis' friends is now gone for good. It was something that had to be done. The whole group--now returned to their regular ages--accompanies Willis and Terriermon as they return to New York. Then it's time for the Japanese Digi-Destined and their Digimon head back to Japan. (First Willis gives Yolei and Kari a goodbye kiss, angering Davis.) Willis and Terriermon are walking beside the ocean when, to their total amazement, a digi-egg washes up on the shore! Kokomon has again returned to his human friend.
