03 will be a lot darker due but there will be a "intersect" with the Digiworld at one point. Also, the new cast is "great" but they look a little younger in comparison to the digidestined we are used to. Also, as a twist, it will be harder for the Digimon to digivolve in 03. A lot harder.
D-Arc
In Digimon Tamers, the new digivices are called "D-Arcs." They work using different cards, which explains the name D-arc. Re-arrange the letters and you'll find the word "card." The tamers swipe their cards from the card game through their D-Arc, and their digimon powers up. This system is known as Card Slash. The D-arc itself is different. Takato's D-arc was originally his card reader. It turned into his D-arc after he swiped a blue card through it. Lee got his D-arc after he swiped a blue card through his Computer Reader that he got from a Digimon computer game.

RUKI MAKINO
Ruki is un-like any female digidestined before her. She has an attitude and enjoys fighting. She thinks of Digimon more as a tool for fighting than as real creatures. Her digimon partner is Renamon. Ruki is also a genius girl who has won the championship in digimon card game rally. Through the people and digimon around her, Ruki learns the meaning of friendship and kindness.
JENRYA LEE
His digimon partner is Terriermon. Lee is also 10 years old. Lee's mother is Japanese and his father is Chinese. He believes that digimon are important friends. He feels very strongly towards Terriermon and they are very close.
TAKATO MATSUDA
Takato is the new leader and the new goggle boy in Digimon Tamers. He's 10 years old and from Japan. His digimon partner is Gillmon. Takato isn't that much like the previous goggle boys, but he's a true friend. Takato is an artist and loves to draw. He is also very obedient, but is not a very strong fighter.
